ByWay - St Anne’s Hill
This book is centred around a nature trail that I’ve been fortunate to explore and revisit throughout much of my life. Over the years, I’ve come to appreciate small, subtle aspects of the environment-details that many might pass by without noticing. This book is a tribute to those hidden moments and quiet corners of the trail, encouraging viewers to look deeper within their own surroundings and communities.
The images throughout this book were taken while intentionally stepping off the main path—slowing down, observing carefully, and allowing the landscape to guide me. Every photograph was chosen with purpose, each one representing a particular feeling, place, or natural detail that stood out during my time on the hill. From vibrant, saturated colours to darker, moodier tones, the images capture the changing atmosphere and authentic character of the area.
This is a personal and intimate collection. The variety of image sizes, from full-page spreads to small, tucked-away photographs, mirrors the layered experience of wandering through this landscape. The choice of a hardcover format was also deliberate—to create something tangible, solid, and lasting, much like the sense of place that inspired it.
I invite you to the Byway and for you to slow down, look closer, and rediscover the beauty in the overlooked.
